Intimate Partner Violence – Perpetrator Treatment

An 11-hour advanced-level course focused on evidence-based treatment strategies for perpetrators of intimate partner violence in Canadian settings. This course covers the psychology of intimate partner violence, the neurobiology and management of anger, stages of recovery from violent behavior, verbal abuse patterns, and practical approaches to helping clients develop non-violent relationship skills. Built on Canadian treatment frameworks including the Duluth Model and Partner Assault Response programs, participants will learn assessment techniques, cognitive restructuring methods, and how to support perpetrators through the stages of change toward accountability and behavioral transformation.
