A 3-hour beginner-level course introducing fundamentals of sexual addiction (compulsive sexual behaviour). Covers the three levels of sexually addictive behaviour, diagnostic frameworks, Canadian epidemiology, underlying causes, culturally safe practice (including Indigenous-informed perspectives), screening and assessment tools used in Canada, and foundational treatment strategies to support development of initial treatment plans for clients presenting with compulsive sexual behaviours.

What you'll learn
Differentiate between high sexual desire, problematic sexual behaviour, and compulsive sexual behaviour disorder (CSBD) and apply the "three levels" framework in clinical triage.
Apply ICD-11 CSBD diagnostic guidance and understand controversies (DSM-5 differences) relevant to Canadian practice.
Select and administer appropriate screening and assessment tools used or recommended in Canadian settings (e.g., SAST-R, PPCS-6-A, YPAST) and integrate concurrent screening for mental health and substance use.
Conduct trauma-informed sexual history-taking, risk assessment, and safety planning, including legal/forensic considerations in Canada.
